Midtown Kids & Youth
Midtown Kids exists to partner with parents to help their children grow to love God and His Word. Recognizing that the family is the first place of training up the next generation, we desire to come alongside the family, as part of the bigger family of God to love, train, and encourage all of our kids that they might call on the Lord for salvation and then share the gospel with the world.
Sundays
Christian Ed
Sundays, 8:45 am (September - April)
Kids of all ages are invited to join our discipleship hour on Sunday mornings as they join their teachers in studying God’s Word.
-
The Nursery is open for babies starting at 6 months old. The Movers room is open for toddlers confidently walking to two years old.
Our goal is to create a safe environment for our youngest members where they learn they are loved by God and His people.
-
The Twos, Threes, and Pre-K classrooms are open for the entirety of the service. Kids will engage in play time during the first half of the service. During the second half of class, children will hear the Word of God and engage in age appropriate activities to help them comprehend what they learned.
-
Kindergarteners and 1st graders start upstairs in corporate worship with their families and then are invited to attend a teaching time with an age-specific lesson, discussion, and application.
Worship
Sundays, 10:00 am
Classrooms for children 6 months old to 1st grade are open during the worship service. Drop-off begins at 9:45 am and closes at 10:15 am. Children who are in 2nd grade and up attend corporate worship with their families for the entirety of the service. Kids bulletins are available in the back of the sanctuary to help them engage in worship.
-
Our Nursery is open for kids 6 months through three years old during Christian Ed.
-
Preschoolers, Kindergarteners, and 1st graders are invited to attend Kids Ed for discipleship, relationship building, and fun.
-
2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are invited to join Midtown's Kingdom Kids ministry. Our goal is to create a safe environment for fellowship, community, and spiritual growth.
-
Our desire is to create a culture where students can learn from gospel-centered teaching in a safe and supportive environment, ask honest questions, and receive honest answers.
Our youth meet weekly on Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 9:45 AM during the Christian Ed hour before worship. One Sunday a month, a family or member of Midtown hosts a youth dinner to connect the youth to the broader body of Christ.
Curriculum
Midtown Kids uses The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum, a Christ-centered Bible study resource that follows a chronological timeline of the Bible. It helps children understand the Bible is not a collection of stories but one unified story--God's story of redemption.
Backyard Kids Club
Backyard Kids Club is Midtown Kids’ summer outreach and discipleship program. BKCs happen in June at various locations around the city. Through BKC, we hope to:
Disciple kids to know and love Jesus as they learn more about Him in a fun environment.
Help Midtown Kids live out the gospel where they live, learn, and play as they have the opportunity to share about Jesus with friends and neighbors.
Bring the gospel to friends and neighbors who may not come to church
Safety
The safety of the children in Midtown Kids is a high priority. We use a secure check-in system, and our volunteers are all trained and screened through Protect My Ministry. If you would like to read our Policies and Procedures, you can click here.
